CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (Refresher) - SMSTS -R

The SMSTS - R is a 2-day course run over 2 days or if preferred over 2 consecutive days given a total of 16 hours of face-to-face trainer-led training.

The course is for those who have previously attended and passed the full five-day (SMSTS) course and can provide proof of attendance (valid certificate) within the previous 5 years.

Prove of completion of the 5-day course MUST be given at the time of booking.

Course Aims and Objectives:

Bring the delegate’s health and safety knowledge up to date, as well as giving a thorough overview of the legislative changes and their impact in the work place.

At the end of the course, the learners should be:

  1. Aware of, and able to implement all updated health, safety, welfare, and environmental legislation which affects them in their role as a manager
  2. Aware of and able to implement new guidance and industry best practice
  3. More aware of their duties and responsibilities with regard to health, safety, welfare, and the environment.

 

Course Structure/Content:

  • The current focus of the Health and Safety Executive’s attention
  • Risk assessment and method statements
  • Construction Site Health, Safety, and Welfare
  • Reporting of Injuries, Diseases, and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR)
  • Behavioral safety
  • Occupational health
  • Overview and changes to the current legislation affecting construction.

A CITB grant of £140 is available for those companies who are CITB levy paying customers.
